Budget Real Ledgerward interface · synthetic household data

After every card purchase and funded commitment,

how much money is truly free to use?

One household, one source of truth

Made for the way money really moves.

Ledgerward connects everyday budgeting to durable accounting, so clarity today never comes at the cost of history tomorrow.

01

Evidence first

Import without surrendering control.

Bring in Chase exports or map your own CSV format. Ledgerward preserves the source, catches overlap, and asks before anything becomes accounting.

  • Immutable source files
  • Deduplication
  • Explicit review
02

One honest budget

A card purchase is still spending.

Checking, savings, cash, credit cards, loans, and HELOCs share one payment-method-neutral plan. Envelopes track purpose—not the plastic used.

  • Cash-backed cards
  • Exact splits
  • Debt planning
03

A clearer horizon

See the squeeze before it happens.

Recurring income, bills, projects, targets, and buffers become a dated cash outlook. Forecasts stay projections until real activity arrives.

  • Cash coverage
  • Projects
  • Until next income

Trust is a product feature

A budget you can audit.

Financial software should be able to explain itself. Ledgerward keeps original evidence, confirmed accounting, and planning choices distinct—then connects them without rewriting the past.

01

Balanced

Every confirmed event is represented once in a double-entry ledger.

02

Reviewable

Suggestions explain themselves. Your choices remain separate from source evidence.

03

Recoverable

Encrypted archives and human-readable exports keep ownership with the household.

04

Local-first

Core budgeting never depends on a bank connection or cloud provider.

The honest fine print

Good questions, answered plainly.

Does Ledgerward connect directly to my bank?+

Not today. Imports are deliberate and reviewable: Chase formats work out of the box, and configurable CSV profiles cover other exports. Direct bank connections are deferred, so the core product never depends on them.

Is this just envelope budgeting?+

No. The envelope plan sits on an immutable double-entry ledger, with dedicated handling for cards, loans, HELOCs, transfers, refunds, reconciliation, and month close.

Is Ledgerward ready for everyone?+

Ledgerward is usable today and under active development, but it has not reached a 1.0 compatibility commitment. Current gaps and implementation status are documented openly in the project roadmap.
